Soil:
The suitable soil for peaches is sandy loam and sandy loam with a depth of 1-1.5 meters. Heavy and wet soils are not suitable for cultivation.
Watering:
More water is required than stone fruits and this requirement is intensified at the end of the fruit growth period.
Temperature:
Some peach cultivars need about 1000 hours of cold temperature less than 7 degrees Celsius. And some cultivars are planted in tropical regions and do not need cold.
Peach propagation method:
Peaches and nectarines are usually propagated by grafting on seed bases.
Pests:
Green peach aphid:
It is the most important pest of peaches. The damage is in the form of a severe reduction in tree growth, the complexity of leaves and the death of plant tissue.
Peach branch eater:
They feed on young leaves and buds.
Disease:
Superficial whitewash:
It causes the formation of felt tissue and prevents natural growth.
Peach leaf complexity:
It causes the fruit to fall or stop in the trees.
Bacterial canker:
The most important symptom of the disease is canker and gum production on branches, trunks and sometimes infected fruits.
Sieve disease:
It causes damage to the leaves, which can lead to severe leaf and fruit drop early in the season.
Fertilization:
In winter, potash fertilizer, urea phosphate fertilizer, iron fertilizer and animal manure are used.
Fruit set fertilizer is used before flowering and when at least 50% of buds have appeared.
During the growth period, like any other period, it needs three substances: nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. Micronutrients and calcium are needed for fruit formation.
Among the fertilizers that are produced in Yadnegar Structures Company (Cinco) and can be used for peaches.
Humic acid, liquid calcium, calcium acetate, potassium sulfate, urea phosphate, fructate, calcium nitrate, postafert (Zadekh), zinc granule, and due to the fact that NPK complete fertilizer has micronutrients.
